Bassist Dan Bodwell and drummer Sean Carpio join pianist Francesco Turrisi in this typically Italian approach to the piano trio. Turrisi, a graduate of The Royal Conservatory in The Hague and long-time member of acclaimed early music ensemble l’Arpeggiata, is established as a key figure within Irish jazz and the founder of Tarab, an ensemble experimenting with different elements of Mediterranean music, jazz improvisation and Irish traditional music. The Francesco Turrisi Trio released their debut cd 'Si Dolce È Il Tormento' in 2009 to widespread acclaim. Described by The Irish Times as ‘exquisite',  the music is imbued  with the  reflective  aesthetic of the great German label ECM whilst drawing inspiration from early music and Italian folk melodies. Providing further evidence of the abundant creativity at work from this creative, open minded pianist.
