12 Points

Established in 2007, 12 Points is a dynamic festival of young European jazz, presenting 12 young acts performing jazz and related music from 12 different European countries.

The annual festival is uniquely nomadic, alternating between Dublin and other vibrant young cities, such as Porto, Portugal (2012) and Umeå, Sweden (2014).

Over the years, it has become an invaluable resource for festival bookers and jazz media seeking a high quality pan-European showcase of emerging jazz talent.

For the young musicians, it is a fantastic opportunity to rise to the next phase of their careers and move beyond their domestic scene. 12 Points is also a place of discussion and debate with the ‘Jazz Futures’ conference now an integral part of the daytime activities, and the nightly jam session an important place for making new connections, both musically and socially.

In 2012 12 Points was awarded the Europe Jazz Network inaugural award for ‘Adventurous Programming’

12 Points is programmed by an annual open call. Further information on the festival and how to apply is available at www.12points.ie
