Mixtapes From The Underground is a live, improvised, Hip-Hop collective based in Dublin, Ireland.

Since their inception in 2006 they have become renowned for their incendiary shows and have garnered a strong reputation among Hip-Hop heads and music fans alike.

Preferring to perform amongst the audience instead of the stage when possible, Mixtapes acts like the DJ to the emcee, organically shifting the music in and out of styles and tempi from Hip-Hop to Dub to Afro-Beat and everything in between, creating an electric atmosphere as the band and emcees flow effortlessly around each other.

As both backing group and in their own right, they have played venues and festivals the length and breadth of the country and have shared the stage with some of Hip-Hop’s greatest luminaries, including: Pete Rock, Ice-Cube, Papoose, Tableek, Shabazz Palaces, Ms. Dynamite, Bond de Role, Afrobeat pioneer Tony Allen and Blue Note pianist Robert Glasper, not to mention their barn-storming slots at Bray Jazz, Body & Soul and Down With Jazz festivals.
