About the ICP…
Founded in 1967, the ICP Orchestra features some of the most adventurous and infamous improvisers in Europe, in particular, co-founder and drummer Mr Han Bennink, who is as unpredictable as he is engaging and the epitome of one who is eternally young. Han celebrates his 75th Birthday in 2017, although many still have a hard time keeping up with his explosive and energetic drumming and his unique use of almost any surface as a percussive toy.
The ICP takes its name from the notion that improvisation is “instant composition”. The Orchestra and its associated label have published more than 50 releases to date, with most of its releases featuring the ICP Orchestra and its members.
Don't miss the ICP's debut Irish performances, including Saturday 4th November at The Sugar Club. Further info here
