Emily O’Rourke is a guitarist, composer and educator based in Co. Kildare.

As well as being a performing musician, Emily is the founder and manager of The Kind of New Series, an organisation aimed at connecting newly emerging jazz artists and students with professional musicians.

Emily graduated with honours from DCU’s BA Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance in 2022. Since then she has performed regularly throughout Ireland at venues and festivals such as The Dublin Jazz Co-Op, Bealtaine Featival, Sugarcoat Sessions and The Echo Band in the National Concert Hall.

Emily is a teacher and administrator with The Jam Music Company. She is also a lead Tutor with IMC's Jazz Camp for Girls.

Emily regularly performs with ReRoute, a jazz guitar and vocal duo with vocalist Rufina Tishina. ReRoute’s debut album is set to be released in 2024.

She is also a member of the trio River Daughter, a sax, voice and guitar improvising group. Emily has also arranged and recorded guitar parts for both of singer-songwriter Gemma Cox’s EP’s.
