During this uncertain time, it’s more important than ever that we present ourselves as a single community with one voice. In order to gather the information to allow us to do this, we’ve created a musicians survey.
This survey has the following sections:
- Basic Information
- Your Musical Life
- Your relationship with IMC
- Professional Development / Expectation
- Experience of Wider Arts Scene
- Final Thoughts
The information you submit will assist IMC to present a unified, democratised voice for the jazz & improvising musicians community.
Your input will allow us to provide various funding bodies and other key stakeholders with solid qualitative data to steer the decision-making process towards actions that will benefit us all.
Apologies in advance that this is not a short survey, but we made it as short as we could, given its importance to the overall community. We estimate it will take about 30-45 minutes to complete. We will be keeping the survey open until Tuesday June 30th.
This is a completely anonymous survey.
You will have most of the required information readily.
We intend to publish the overall results of this survey (anonymised) later this summer.
We will follow up with a series of Jazz Connector meetings to identify key outcomes and help us forge a path ahead collectively.
The majority of questions in this musicians survey were written before the current Covid-19 crisis and therefore a lot of the information may not seem important at this time. However, it’s still vitally important for us to assess what the health of the Irish jazz and improvised scene was before this crisis. We need a recent/current baseline so that we can use this information to help us move in the right direction when the time comes to rebuild and redouble our efforts.
Additionally your information will help us to ensure that any future developments of the Irish jazz and improvised music scene address the problems that have already existed as well as the new ones that have arisen. It will also help us to understand how you view IMC, what we are doing right, and more importantly, where you believe that we can improve.
Thanks so much for your help and for your valuable information. We appreciate you taking the time to complete this important survey.
All the best,
Adam, Aoife, Caitriona & Kenneth
