Cooler Connects: February 2023

Start off 2023 on the right foot with tips, tricks, and advice on your social media and digital presence from the Improvised Music Company team, and a chance to explore a new rehearsal and development space for improvised music.

Cooler Connects on Sunday February 5th (morning and afternoon sessions) is focused on social media and web presence for musicians, with basic tips and tricks for beginners, and more detailed intermediate advice for those looking for a plan for 2023. You can also drop in to meet fellow musicians over tea and coffee, chat to the IMC team, and explore IMC’s new rehearsal and development space for improvised music - The Cooler at the Complex.

Cooler Connects is a free drop-in clinic where you can discuss your social media presence 1:1 with a member of the IMC team or in a small group, in short 20/30 minute slots. Ask us anything that’s concerning you - if you’re uncertain of how to get started with social platforms, need a plan to make social media part of your work, or are looking for practical tips to save time and keep your web presence going. We’ll offer advice on using different tools and platforms, tips on getting better reach with your social media, and how to make sharing your work as easy as possible for you, amongst other things.

Over the course of the morning or afternoon session we’ll cover a variety of different topics, hear short presentations on what works best for musicians, and find inspiration on how to tell your story and share your music.

Please note:

Ticket options include In-Person morning and afternoon times, as well as Online morning times. Booking online means IMC will contact you to schedule a time for the online call. In-person means that you can call in during the allotted time on the ticket.

Please bring your phone or laptop, or the device you primarily use to manage your artistic presence online.

Book in to select your time for a 1:1 session or to attend any of the workshops or introductions below. 1:1 sessions take place throughout the day every half-hour and your preferred time can be booked via Eventbrite above.
