Floater, Pendulum, Dublin

So far 2008 has proved a creative year for Justin Carroll, and Floater is the latest evidence of this rich vein of form, and an opportunity to hear his fine array of analogue keyboards in their natural habitat. With help from a rocksteady Shane O’Donovan on drums, plus the unpredictable dub of Simon Jermyn’s treated electric bass, Carroll give his Rhodes, Moog and other 70’s paraphernalia a bang up to date workout, with tunes that float in a suspension that's equal parts dirty funk, dreamy ambience and free improv.
