From Melbourne, Tim Wilson

Dublin's informal twinning with Melbourne continues apace, and next to join us from Australia's most vibrant jazz city is alto saxophonist Tim Wilson. Fine alto playing it is too, assertive with a singing tone and full of forward motion, evocative of Jackie McLean, Eric Dolphy and Cannonball, and put to the service of contemporary writing with an individual signature.

With a brace of CDs as a leader, and a slew of illustrious playing associations with musicians like Mike Nock, he follows in the footsteps of previous visitors from oz like tenor Jamie Oehlers and trumpeter Paul Williamson, who joins him here, along with Melbourne bassist Roland Fidezuis and Dublin drummer Sean Carpio.
