Guilfoyle Nielsen Trio

Guitarist Mike Nielsen and the bass and drums partnership of Guilfoyle brothers Ronan and Conor have been creating music together for well over a decade, and unsurprisingly, this trio enjoys a telepathic level of creative exchange.

A probing commitment to finding their own voice has seen the trio breaking new ground, heard to riveting effect in their innovative rhythmic approach to the standard repertoire. While recent performances have been sporadic, they always summon an urgent, vital intensity unparalleled in Irish jazz, and now they’re prepping for a live recording as follow up to their 1995 debut CD Part One.
