Jazz Connector 30th July - Navigating the new reality
Continuing our fortnightly Jazz Connector online meet-ups, IMC would again like to invite all the communities of people who make up the jazz world in Ireland - musicians, promoters, educators and venues - to come together for an informal Zoom meet-up on Thursday July 30th from 1:30 - 3:00PM to discuss:
Navigating the new reality: Changing festivals and events in the post-COVID19 landscape.
If you missed out on the last meeting, you can read all of the talking points that were discussed HERE.
Many festivals and events large and small have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 crisis. With dozens of arts and culture festivals taking place annually in Ireland, festivals form a major part of the Irish cultural ecology. Under discussion today will be the methods by which festivals are planning for a return to live performances, planning for performances in the post-COVID-19 landscape, and the innovative alternative methods of presentation which have been developed by many festivals during the COVID-19 restrictions.
IMC will also present the results of a survey of their audience regarding the confidence of audiences to return to live music.
Guest speakers will include John Daly of Limerick Jazz, discussing planning for a festival in the light of current restrictions.
All guest speakers are expressing their own personal views and will not be speaking on behalf of their various companies/employers.
Please register your interest below to attend. You can also let us know if there are any particular topics that you would like us to cover in this or future discussions. Places are limited so be sure to let us know if you’d like to join in!
