Johnny Daly Quartet

The influx of young Irish musicians to The Hague's Royal Conservatory is now bearing fruit on the Irish jazz scene, and Johnny Daly's latest project bears out the validity of nourishing the friendships that this fine institution can incubate.

Travelling back from Holland with the Dublin bassist is New Yorker Danny Nicholas, latterly a student of Barry Harris, and a guitarist of considerable ability in the venerable bebop tradition.

Cork tenor Carl Rooney, another musician whose star is in the ascendant, joins them in a group that takes its cue from the signature 50's sound of quartets led by Art Farmer and Jim Hall.
