Julien Wilson Trio

Saxophonist Jamie Oehlers was a stunning ambassador for Australian jazz during his short Irish tenure, and now comes another outstanding
tenor man from down under.

Julien Wilson is another product of Melbourne's rapidly developing jazz scene, and this trio is one of the city's busiest working groups. With guitarist Stephen Magnusson and Stephen Grant on piano accordion, Wilson, who studied with George Russell, explores a very intimate and lyrical, tango-infused terrain that straddles nostalgic and contemporary jazz simultaneously.

Australia's foremost jazz critic John Shand described it in the Sydney Herald as "music in which beauty of line and subtleties of textural
shading were pre-eminent, that never lost its passion or intensity".

Come hear for yourself when these three intrepid travelers make their first Dublin appearance.
