Lunfardía

Since 2004 Buenos Aires native Ariel Hernandez & Irelands leading classical accordionist Dermot Dunne have excited and enchanted audiences with their repertoire of songs from across South America.

They have now expanded to a quintet under the name "Lunfardía" including Peruvian percussionist Frank Vidal and two members of the Irish Chamber Orchestra, Ioana Petcu Colan and Malachy Robinson.

Together they produce a sound at once powerful yet delicate; passionate yet fragile, with awesome technical precision and complexity.

Performed in the late-night candlelight of St Marys Cathedral, this promises to be one of the highlights of the Shannon International Festival.
