Lupo & Trilogue Pendulum
Lupo & Trilogue
The spirit of renewal is alive and well in JJs as we kick start 2010 with two brand new projects from the creative end of the musical spectrum. Lupo are singers Sarah Buechi and Lauren Kinsella, who’ve just completed their debut CD, Sessile Oak. This is a venturesome duo, drawn to taut compositions that embrace extended vocal and improv techniques and polarities of volume, pitch and timbre. With Trilogue, bassist Ronan Guilfoyle brings his broad compositional experience in the classical and jazz world to bear in an improvising chamber group with Japanese pianist Izumi Kimura and Sarah Buechi. The lines between jazz and contemporary composed music are increasingly fractured and Trilogue explore the cracks, embracing a range of textures, moods and dynamics outside the vocabulary of either genre, implying a music for the times we live in.
