Michael Buckley’s Dublin Standard Time

Michael Buckley’s Dublin Standard Time

Here’s Ireland’s finest saxophonist in good company with the best of his own generation, playing the greatest of the songs that have reverberated through jazz and popular music over the last century. With Dublin Standard Time, Buckley has been offering a fully committed approach to the jazz standard, and the band, which also features Myles Drennan on fender Rhodes along with bassist Michael Coady and drummer Sean Carpio take all the sap offered by each selection of standards before moving on to new pastures. Compositions up for some forensic examination in this return engagement include Shorter’s Yes and No, Henderson’s Inner Urge and Ellington’s All Too Soon, and other standard tunes that will be the catalyst for invigorating blowing, deep grooving and the pursuit of a real band signature.
