Microclimate invite Stephane Payen Pendulum

Microclimate finds bassist/composer Ronan Guilfoyle going to the well of Irish music making with impressive results. Quite apart from command of the instrument, drummer Sean Carpio has a sharp musical mind that isn't trammeled by tired notions of genre, and Limerick guitarist Joe O'Callaghan is a coming force in Irish jazz guitar, with extended lines and contemporary chord shapes that imply players like Abercrombie and Scofield. They're joined by the impressive altoist Stephane Payen, a founder member of Paris's Hask Collective, described by The Guardian's John Fordham as mixing "a balletic Charlie Parkerish lightness with Evan Parker's squirting sonic abstractions ".
