Microclimate, with special guest Julian Arguelles

They've just finished a short tour opening for EST, and Microclimate again finds bassist/composer Ronan Guilfoyle going to the well of Irish music making with very impressive results.

Quite apart from a beautiful command of the instrument, drummer Sean Carpio has a sharp musical mind that isn't trammeled by tired notions of genre, and Limerick guitarist Joe O'Callaghan is a coming force in Irish jazz guitar, with extended lines and contemporary chord shapes that imply players like Abercrombie and Scofield.

They're joined here by that most lyrical of English saxophonists, Julian Arguelles, guesting with the trio for a night's music centred on Guilfoyle's idiomatically savvy tunes for guitar trio.
