Microclimate

The creative momentum for Microclimate is a cycle of miniatures by bassist Ronan Guilfoyle each inspired by a single word. With a semiotic approach that Beckett would approve of, and a shared application to exciting rhythmic music, this is bravura trio playing at its best, and sees the internationally recognized bassist and composer pooling resources with two exceptional Irish musicians. Tipperary born guitarist Joe O’Callaghan is among the finest here, with extended lucid lines and tasteful contemporary chord shapes, and drummer Sean Carpio is a musician with technique to die for, the taste to restrict it, and a sharp musical mind.
