Nigel Mooney’s Hip Operation

Guitarist Nigel Mooney has been a charismatic musical figure since the early 80s, and his fondly remembered Gripewater Blues Band straddled the Irish blues and jazz scene with memorable results.

These days, Mooney is winning legions of new admirers at his Friday night Hub residency, as much for his insouciant singing as his authentic blues guitar .

Like any successful medical procedure, this Hip Operation has been a new lease of life, a tribute in itself to Mooney’s fellow musicians, Greg Felton (piano), Shane O’Donovan (drums) and Ruaidhri O'Donnabhain (bass).
