A potent line up assembled for this debut at the Pendulum from young alto saxman Dennis Wyers and his Rhombus quintet, who’ll also be launching a new EP. Theres a real stylistic promiscuity at work, and an enthusiasm for risk taking that ranges from icy detachment to feverish improv. Wyer’s persuasive writing is put through its paces by Swiss singer par excellence Sarah Buechi, trumpeter Bill Blackmore, bassist Cormac O’Brien and drummer Shane O’Donovan.
