Along with drummer David Lyttle, guitarist Mark McKnight provides compelling evidence that an ambitious new generation of jazz artists are emerging from Belfast.His low profile to date can be attributed to a lengthy sojourn in Boston's Berklee School, from where this supple and inventive player has recently graduated. Here he leads a quartet of some promise, featuring the rhythmic impetus of the aforementioned Lyttle, along with up and coming trumpeter Rory Simmons and the talented pianist Ivo Neame, already an established presence on the UK scene in groups like the F-ire Collective and Dean Street Underground Orchestra.
