Phil Ware Bop Quintet
Tight ensembles, dynamic soloists and driving rhythm sections were the hallmarks of hard bop, the exhilarating idiom that reached its pinnacle on the seminal albums of Art Blakey, Joe Henderson and Horace Silver. Its a style that continues to motivate players and audiences alike, among them JJ’s pianist in residence Phil Ware, who’s again convened leading Irish musicians in hard bop homage, including Danny Healy (trumpet), Brendan Doyle (tenor), Dave Redmond (bass) and Conor Guilfoyle (drums).
