Phil Ware Trio

Ireland’s leading piano trio return to the scene of their highly successful and recently concluded Summit residency, one aspect of a busy schedule in 07 that’s has also seen them release a debut CD. The Aptly titled In Our Own Time finds pianist Phil Ware, bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Kevin Brady in confident form, most especially on ballads, where a new found cohesion and maturity is much in evidence. Like the great piano trios that define this enduring jazz idiom, this is a democratic discourse between the three participating musicians, with each of the musical elements in a delicately poised balance between collective responsibility and individual expression.
