Red Rocket Pendulum

Pendulum sees out 2008 on a determined creative note, with this collaborative project from Belgian saxophonist/clarinettist Joachim Badenhorst, drummer Sean Carpio and bassist Simon Jermyn. They’re in Ireland to record the follow up to 2006’s debut release Mitten (Rat Records). These three have developed a highly organic approach to their repertoire of pithy riff based tunes, often morphing into other terrain that’s not afraid of sonic extremes. Badenhorst is the fulcrum for a plethora of projects in the Brussels creative music community, and here his discursive playing is spurred on by Carpio’s pressing urgency at the drums and Jermyn’s mind expanding use of the electric bass.
