The Dolphy Project

The Dolphy Project

Pendulum @ JJ Smyths - Sunday 21st March 2004

The movers and shakers of the Dirty Jazz Club are decamping to the Pendulum for a night in honour of Eric Dolphy whose unique sound, as heard on landmark Blue Note albums like Out To Lunch, brilliantly combined be bop with a contemporary harmonic palette and broken time feel.

Soprano saxophonist Cathal Roche leads this exploration of some of Dolphy's earlier compositions, with Bill Blackmore (tpt), Justin Carroll (pno) Rory O'Donovon (bs) and Conor Murray (dms).

This is not a ticketed event. €8 cover charge applies.
