Tommy Halferty Trio feat: Keith Copeland

Back in Dublin following a memorable gig with Benny Golson at EDJF 2001, US drummer Keith Copeland reunites with his Irish trio under the leadership of guitarist Tommy Halferty. This enduring partnership has been documented on three cds for Danish label Steeplechase, all of which find Halferty and bassist Ronan Guilfoyle audibly inspired by the seismic groove Copeland generates.

Little wonder, given his reputation as a virtuoso of time, a master musician who brings the full spectrum of Afro American music to the drumkit, gained from many years on the bandstand with musicians as diverse as composer George Russell, saxophonist Johnny Griffin and soul legends Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder. Expect the trio to be firing on all cylinders as they warm up for a studio session.
