ZoiD vs. Jazz Musicians of Dublin @ Pendulum

ZoiD is Daniel Jacobson, guitarist, composer and representative of the musician’s new creed, straddling acoustic and electronic music without impediment. Influenced by a broad span of music from improv, contemporary and electronica spheres, he’s just released a debut album Zoid vs. The Jazz Musicians of Ireland (D1/Diatribe), acclaimed by The Irish Times’ Jim Carroll as “wonderful future bop realms…intriguing and enjoyable”. In this live performance that explores new techniques for the organic performance of electronic music, trombonist Colm O’Hara, saxophonist Nick Roth and trumpeter Paul Williamson feed the acoustic raw material to Jacobson’s laptop for real time processing, and emerge transformed in a new landscape of digital beats and lush textures.
