IMC’s Creative About Music Podcast airing on Mondays from mid-April

Improvised Music Company ventures onto the digital airwaves with a new podcast series for the creatively curious, premiering this April.

IMC’s Creative About Music Podcast is a series of conversations with musicians about the act of creating, from inspiration to daily practices. We’ll discuss musician’s different approaches to creativity, where they take their ideas from and how they are developed, how they approach collaboration, and also take some deep dives into particular tracks to break down how a final musical work was created.

Illuminating the creative process, these conversations are a perfect stopping point for some creative inspiration for your own projects, whether big or small.

Beginning with a series of BAN BAM episodes, Aoife Concannon talks to the three recipients of the BAN BAM Commissioning Award 2020/2021 (Sue Rynhart, Cora Venus Lunny, and Úna Monaghan) about their process in creating their new pieces, which are planned for live performance in Autumn 2021.

Listen to IMC’s Creative About Music Podcast on Mondays from mid-April, on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google, or wherever you get your podcasts. Connect with IMC on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter to be notified when new episodes air.
