Creating meaningful and engaging content for children, based on the core tenets of spontaneity and improvisation, underscores our commitment to the strategic enhancement of young people's personal engagement with the arts.
Quality work that has improvisation at its core, is important to attract, entertain, educate and develop audiences, both short and long term, as well as providing new creative outlets for professional musicians.
This workshop will explore the knowledge and experience that already exists in this field. It also seeks to elevate the quality and status of performances for children and young people and to involve more musicians and producers in creating professional concerts, aimed at children, young people and their families in order to make this field more attractive and to present this as a recognised professional discipline of its own.
Presenting concerts for children and young people can be immensely rewarding for both the organiser and the audience. It can also play an important, and inter-generational, part of recruiting a new audience, made up of children and their parents, carers and grandparents.
IMC are grateful to The Ark Children's Cultural Centre for their support in hosting this event of Jazz Connective Dublin.
