The Source Arts Centre Thurles, 2021
IMC's Navigator Jazz Residency programme, in partnership with The Source Arts Centre, Thurles, welcomed Irish jazz guitarist Hugh Buckley to Tipperary for 10 days during April-May 2021 to develop his solo work, write new music and engage with the local scene.
Hugh said of the residency: "It was a welcome opportunity to create some new work and to focus on some existing materials that needed developing. It certainly gave me some extra 'fire in the belly' to pursue my current creative activities. It was also an opportunity to interact with a new creative community and to feel that I might have contributed positively in some way. I feel there is more work to be done there in this regard."
Hugh Buckley is a Dublin born and based, self-taught guitarist, composer, arranger, educator and author.
