12 Points Festival - Sat Sep 28
12 POINTS LINEUP: SAT SEP 28
19:00 TamTam (Estonia)
Vocal and bass duo TamTam (with Anett Tamm and Karl Tammaru) from Estonia bring influences from art pop and electronica into a colourful musical palette, which fuses expressive vocals and euphonious bass grooves into dreamy nocturnes.
20:15 Verneri Pohjola & Tuomo Prätälä (Finland)
Trumpeter Verneri Pohjola and pianist Tuomo Prättälä have played and recorded together in various ensembles and collaborations since the 90’s. These bands include Quintessence, The Q-Continuum and Ilmiliekki Quartet, which performed at 12 Points in 2007. Pohjola and Prättälä have consistently played in each other’s groups, but this collaboration is a novelty for them: a duo! Moreover, they are forging new paths because this time the adventure also includes strong electronic elements.
Verneri Pohjola & Tuomo Prättälä Duo replace the scheduled Austrian band /kry, which unfortunately has had to cancel their performance on Sat 28th due to illness.
21:30 SC'ÖÖF (Switzerland)
With two horns, drums and guitar, Sc’ööf bring traditional jazz instruments into an avant-garde soundscape. Their music is fuelled both by their passion for odd grooves and a consciousness of social responsibility in their creative practice.
23:00 12 Points Late Night Jam
In addition to 12 performances from a broad spectrum of artists, 12 Points hosts an anything goes, freewheelin’ European ‘Jam Session’ after concert performance, which has in the past been the genesis for many fantastic new collaborations, forged spontaneously on the bandstand. There will be a session on Thursday 26th, Friday 27th and Saturday 28th, led by a different local band each night, and featuring artists from across Europe. In previous editions this totally free environment has been the perfect place for the formation of new musical friendships.
