This part-performance, part-workshop, and part-adventure is specifically developed for audiences aged 6-11 years old…and parents who are young at heart! Debuted in 2016 at Amsterdam’s famous jazz venue ‘Bimhuis’, Bim Bam Bennink shows young audiences how exciting and fun ‘instant composition’ (improvisation) can be.

Led by the energetic and playful drummer Mr Han Bennink, who co-founded the ICP in 1967 (!) and celebrated his 75th birthday this year, this is a unique chance to see and hear this one of a kind ensemble in Dublin.

Their new children’s show “Bim Bam Bennink” was debuted in 2016 at Amsterdam’s famous jazz venue ‘Bimhuis’ and illustrates perfectly to young audiences how exciting and fun instant composition (aka improvisation) can be.

About the ICP…

Founded in 1967, the ICP Orchestra features some of the most adventurous and infamous improvisers in Europe, in particular, co-founder and drummer Mr Han Bennink, who is as unpredictable as he is engaging and the epitome of one who is eternally young. Han celebrates his 75th Birthday in 2017, although many still have a hard time keeping up with his explosive and energetic drumming and his unique use of almost any surface as a percussive toy.

The ICP takes its name from the notion that improvisation is “instant composition”. The Orchestra and its associated label have published more than 50 releases to date, with most of its releases featuring the ICP Orchestra and its members.

Don't miss the ICP's debut Irish performances, including Saturday 4th November at The Sugar Club. Further info here
