Chris McNulty

"An engrossing demonstration of the art of jazz singing” was how The Irish Times described Chris McNulty’s last appearance at The Pendulum, and this outstanding New York based vocalist now returns, with an illustrious guest in tow, in the guise of virtuoso guitarist Paul Bollenbeck.

McNulty’s voice is rich in depth and colour, with the elasticity of phrasing that is the hallmark of a great swinging singer and hers is an instrument that bears comparison with Ella Fitzgerald , especially when she turns to the subtle art of vocalese.

The songs here are standards, both jazz and contemporary, culled from her latest release Dance Delicioso, in a group augmented by leading Micheal Buckley (sax), Sean Carpio (drums) and Scottish bassist Aidan O’Donnell.
