Cormac Kenevey Vocalese Quartet - Pendulum

"Kenevey brings heart, spirit and warmth to everything he sings "- Jazzwise

Singer Cormac Kenevey is his own man, both as a savvy interpreter of the jazz standard, and a songwriter with a keen eye for the quirks and contradictions of the contemporary world he inhabits. Though still in his twenties, there is maturity and no short regard for the artists whom he cites as major influences like Mel Torme and Frank Sinatra. He’s also a devotee of vocalese, the art of putting lyrics to great instrumental solos. Along with pianist Johnny Taylor, bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Kevin Brady, this Candid recording artist takes you through high points in a style that requires considerable dexterity, with new vocalese interpretations from Keveney alongside music from Jon Hendricks, Annie Ross, King Pleasure, Kurt Elling and Georgie Fame.
