Dark Star- Pendulum

Dark Star has all the hallmarks of a dynamic new presence on the Irish jazz scene with a potent line up, an instrumental palette that offers an alternative to the orthodox and original compositions that reflect a taste for John Zorn. At its helm is baritone saxophonist Kelan Walsh, now making good on the potential so clearly evident in his playing with the 4 Dame Lane Big Band. Joining him is violinist Simone Mendonca, guitarist Simon Jermyn, bassist Derek Whyte and drummer Sean Carpio, sharing a musical intent around tight structures and expansive improvisation.
