David Lyttle is upping the ante with this exceptional line up of Irish musicians who join forces with a genuine icon of the US music scene for an extensive Irish tour. From St Louis, Missouri, alto saxophonist, composer and producer Greg Osby has made an indelible mark on contemporary jazz as a leader of his own ensembles and as a guest artist, notable for his insightful and innovative approach to composition and performance of original music, now extensively documented on the historic Blue note label. It’s a prospect to savour, not least the dialogue in store with fellow saxophonist of some stature Michael Buckley, fuelled by a rhythmic engine that includes bassist Ronan Guilfoyle and pianist Justin Carroll with the exceptional young drummer from Belfast.
