David Lyttle’s True Story @ Pendulum

2007 has been a busy year for David Lyttle, garnering a reputation as one of the hardest swinging drummers on the island and building an impressive resume that includes recent performances with American saxophonists Dave Liebman and Jean Toussaint. He’s also found time to release a debut CD True Story brought together leading Irish musicians to perform his original compositions in that contemporary vein that marries rhythmic urgency with open harmonic frameworks. Helping Lyttle put them through their paces in a live context are saxophonist Michael Buckley, pianist Myles Drennan and bassist Dan Bodwell.
