Di Grine Kuzine

Summer Jazz 2004: free lunchtime concerts throughout July in association with Dublin City Council

Wednesday 7th July, 1 -2pm @ Civic Offices Amphitheatre, Wood Quay, Dublin

Accordionist and vocalist Alexandra Dimitroff leads the band of likeable rogues that is Di Grine Kuzine, Berlin's favourite pocket orchestra. Tuba, trumpet, clarinet and drums are the other ingredients in this energetic gumbo of three parts Klezmer to one part ska, with a little Latin hot sauce thrown in for good measure.

Their willful eclecticism and raucous persona has gone down a treat with audiences in France, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Germany, where the band were recipient of The GermanFolk Award 02. Call it village music from the heart of Europe, with a contemporary twist.
