Lage Lund Trio

"Lund burned down the house with one impossibly deft solo after another." (Timeout)

Even in the crowded field of contemporary jazz guitarists, Lage Lund, stands out as one of the finest of the new generation. Raised in Norway, based in the US since his late teens, Lund swings with old school authority and tonal clarity, displaying a rare harmonic sophistication and a singularly fluid voice as a soloist. The rewards have been plentiful, including the prestigious Thelonius Monk Prize in 2005, and a busy diary with stellar artists like Maria Schneider and Mulgrew Miller. He’s previously performed here with saxophonist Will Vinson, and returns to JJs with a working trio and a very tasty NYC rhythm section in attendance, with bassist Orlando Le Fleming and drummer Jonathon Blake.
