Michael Buckley 4tet feat. Greg Burk

Since moving to Navan, where among other things he has built a home recording studio, Dublin outings for Ireland’s leading tenor player have been thin on the ground, but this one is an all star affair.

In addition to drummer Stephen Kehoe and bassist Jeremy Brown, now established as one of Europe’s leading rhythm sections, this one off date marks a welcome return to Dublin for Detroit born pianist Greg Burk.

Now based in Rome, Burk’s forthcoming trio CD features Steve Swallow and Bob Moses and will be his third release for noted Italian label SoulNote, and will surely add to his growing reputation as a first rate pianist and composer with a personal approach, described by JazzTimes “as particularly lyrical and expressive”.
