Niwel Tsumbu & Éamonn Cagney Duo at Hotter than July online

Niwel Tsumbu & Éamonn Cagney Duo at Hotter than July online
Saturday 18th & Sunday 26th July, 7pm

For its 7th year in 2020, Hotter than July is moving to an online space, celebrating inclusivity and diversity with music, story-telling, and creativity that is accessible to everyone from home!

Coming from Dublin’s Camden Studios straight into your living room and uniting the best of many musical traditions, are Irish percussionist Éamonn Cagney and Congolese guitarist Niwel Tsumbu performing in their critically-acclaimed duo.

Built on 15 years of constant collaboration, Niwel Tsumbu and Éamonn Cagney are known for their incredible musical chemistry and exciting, joyous performances. Besides their duo music, they have worked in traditional Irish, Jazz, world, contemporary, electronic, opera, soundtracks, dance and countless other musical forms.

Expect a highly engaging performance, both intimate and elaborate, a musical river whose sources range from classical to Central Africa, with pulsating rhythms, wild guitar solos and so much more.

Before their performance, percussionist Éamonn Cagney chatted to us a bit about their style as a duo, thinking about creativity in lockdown and the magic moments of music-making for our 'Other Side of the Tracks' Q&A series, which you can now read HERE.
