A return to Pendulum for this occasional collaboration between Belgian saxophonist/clarinetist Joachim Badenhorst, drummer Sean Carpio and bassist Simon Jermyn, who will shortly release the follow up to 2006’s debut release Mitten (Rat Records). These three have developed a highly organic approach to their repertoire of pithy riff based tunes, often morphing into other terrain that’s not afraid of sonic extremes. Like expat Jermyn, Badenhorst is the fulcrum for a plethora of projects in the Brooklyn creative music community, and here his discursive playing is spurred on by Carpio’s pressing urgency at the drums and Jermyn’s mind expanding use of the electric bass.
