Jermyn-Carpio

Irish bassist, guitarist and composer Simon Jermyn, a staple Brooklyn NY creative music scene for the past 7 years, is in town to record a new duo record with one of Ireland's most respected drummers, Sean Carpio. At this Signal Series set, you'll get to hear the fruits of their labour firsthand. Featuring original music that weaves contemporary composition with extended improvisations across a panoply of instrumentation (guitar, bass, drums, electronics, and vocals) from this dexterous duo.

Tom Caraher Band

Born in Bangkok and raised across continents from the Far East to North Carolina, Kerry-based saxophonist Tom Caraher has seen his fair share of the world. Discovering his love of saxophone in the land of Bluegrass and studying in the prestigious Berklee College of music he finally relocated back to Ireland and quickly established himself in bands including the Dublin City Jazz Orchestra, the Hot House Big Band, ZASKA, The Connor McKeon Band, Aja, Phisqa and The Booka Brass Band. Here he leads his own quartet made up of some of Cork's finest players for a contemporary jazz set steeped in groove and inflected with this saxophonist's many travels.

The Signal Series is a live monthly double-header concert series from IMC presenting the best emerging and established jazz acts from across Ireland, taking place on the first Thursday of each month in Arthur's Blues & Jazz Club.

Please Note: There is generous but not complete seating available in this venue. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis. If you have particular requirements, please notify us and we will do our best to assist you.
