Dans Dans
Atmospheric, hypnotic, delicate and wild: Belgian jazz instrumental trio Dans Dans tirelessly construct their own musical universe creating an intriguing blend of jazz without stuffiness, rock without blinkers and avant-garde without pretentiousness.
Dans Dans bring forth an aural adventure and ensure it is a fun ride. A unique collective featuring Bert Dockx (frontman of the acclaimed Flying Horseman), Frederic Jacques (bassist for the great Mark Lanegan and himself a formidable songsmith and singer under the Lyenn moniker) and Steven Cassiers (a sought-after instrumentalist who has collaborated with the likes of Dez Mona and DAAU). Since their debut in 2012, the trio has been astounding listeners with music impossible to pin down in a single genre.
‘It is a musical journey and a mental experience for people who like to dive into another world, away from the everyday, floating in a place far beyond our galaxy.’ - Wouter Heyde, Front View Magazine

Hedvig Mollestad Trio
'Comparing musicians to forces of nature is often the first refuge of the uninspired, but it’s difficult to know how else to describe Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen. There’s something elemental about her guitar playing, the way it weaves and swoops between the bass of Ellen Brekken and the drums of Ivar Loe Bjørnstad, creating sonic currents and eddies in the air as she passes through.' - The Quietus
Fans of instrumental guitar music—both jazz and rock—will want to take notice of Mollestad. A dark, brooding Norwegian aesthetic is at play here, but with a heavy raw punk energy. Live, they are a powerful force, triggering something primal in the listener.
The music is progressive and exhilarating, paying homage to the avant prog-rock of King Crimson, the blues-laden psychedelica of Hendrix with more than a subtle nod free-jazz aesthetic of Gustafsson & Brotzmann.
