Tim Ries- The Rolling Stones Project

BOOK WITH tickets.ie

"The outstanding Tim Ries' expansive and searing tenor projects into intriguing areas of the cultural psyche."
 Jazz Times

Brains and brawn are in near perfect equilibrium with saxophonist Tim Ries, whose last JJs performance had queues snaking down Aungier St, and along with singer Bernard Fowler, he’s back in Dublin for another excursion into the songbook of rock icons The Rolling Stones. As part of the band’s epic touring set up, it’s a repertoire he knows intimately, and this quintessential New York tenorman offers a hip and illuminating perspective on their music, drawn from his work with aristocrats of American music, from Joe Henderson and Maria Schneider to Stevie Wonder and Donald Fagen. Ardent stones fans will recognize Fowler, whose soulful voice can be heard on solo projects for Jagger, Richards and Wood, and he’s also become an indispensible element of the stones on the road. In Dublin, they’ll be hooking up with guitarist Hugh Buckley, bassist Damian Evans and drummer Kevin Brady, who will surely relish the workout on these arrestingly creative interpretations of one of the world’s greatest rock bands.
