Tommy Halferty Quartet

The evergreen Halferty is from Derry, that most musical of Irish cities and since the late 70s, he’s been an irrepressible voice, always lyrical and animated, and a generous mentor to a new generation of musicians. Three of the finest are convened here, with the this spirited improviser joined by drummer Sean Carpio, bassist Cormac O’Brien and special guest saxophonist Sean Og for a typically eclectic programme of standards and contemporary originals, plus singular acoustic pieces from Halferty’s new CD, his first in the solo setting.
