APPLICATIONS TO PERFORM AT 12 POINTS 2017 CLOSE JANUARY 31

Just 3 weeks to go until applications close on 31st January in the annual hunt for the brightest emerging talent in the European jazz scene to perform at the award-winning 12 Points festival inJuly.

12 Points festival features 12 bands or solo performers from 12 different European countries. 12 Points is open to European bands and solo artists active in jazz and other improvisation led idioms. All band memebers must be under the age of 35 years old and be from or based in Europe.

Read more about the Criteria.

Now in it’s 11th edition, 12 Points is programmed each year by an open-call across the continent; an enterprising approach which earned Dublin-based festival producers Improvised Music Company the inaugural Europe Jazz Network award for ‘Adventurous Programming’. Over 500 young musicians have performed at 12 Points since 2007; the festival seen as a ‘mezzanine’ for promising acts on their way to the next level in their careers.

Each year a carefully selected programme of Delegates are also in attendance, comprised of Festival Directors, Bookers, Media, Academics and other influencers from the European jazz scene, making 12 Points a ripe pasture for emerging acts looking to advance beyond their national boundaries.

12 Points 2017 will take place in the vibrant city of Aarhus, Denmark from 16th-19th July in association with the Aarhus Jazz Festival and JazzDanmark, as part of the 2017 Aarhus European Capital of Culture events. The concert performances will be held in the bustling live music venue, Atlas in downtown Aarhus. 12 Points will then return to Dublin for the festival’s 12th birthday in 2018.
