Celebrating 30 years of Improvised Music Company
In 1991, a group of dedicated jazz musicians and promoters came together to found Improvised Music Company, with a goal to support and develop Irish jazz and improvised music. In 2022 we’re celebrating 30 years of IMC’s work, and looking back over the amazing artists, peers, and audiences we've been privileged to work with over the years.
Do you have a favourite memory from the last 30 years of Improvised Music Company? An amazing artist, a particular concert or venue, or a great chat with someone at a gig?
This year we'll be sharing lots of memories with some of our posters and pictures we have filed away from over the years, #ThrowbackThirty and we'd love to include yours! Drop us an email with a favourite memory to admin [@] improvisedmusic.ie , use the hashtag #IMC30 or tag our social media accounts on on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
Even more importantly, we're looking forward to the next 30 years of improvised music in Ireland, and planning concerts, festivals, workshops, new commissions, brand new initiatives and plenty more. Make sure you're signed up to our Newsletter to keep up to date! This year we're also asking your help to make the future of Irish improvised music the best it can be. We're welcoming Friends of IMC for the first time to become part of the future of jazz and improvised music in Ireland. If you'd like to be a part of the future of Irish improvised music, and enjoy a selection of perks exclusive to our Friends, check out more about our Friends Programme by clicking here.
We'd like to thank the many wonderful artists, and audiences we've had the pleasure of meeting over the years, our major funders the Arts Council, all of our supporters who have made these events possible, our partners and peer organisations, and all the friends we've made along the way.
