IMC & Le Bureau Export announce new partnership
Improvised Music Company are excited to announce an exciting new partnership with French music promoter Le Bureau Export.
Created in 1993, Le Bureau Export is a non-profit professional organisation with the aim of developing music made in France all around the world. For 25 years, Le Bureau Export has worked hand-in-hand with French music industry professionals to develop the international careers of their artists, supporting hundreds of Made in France artists every year.
Part of this new partnership that we are looking forward to is La Visite: A Season of French Jazz in Ireland, a programme supported by Le Bureau Export which will see a series of 'made in France' jazz acts play in Ireland throughout 2018, which has begun with the Laura Perrudin's stunning performance at Bray Jazz. Announcements will follow shortly for further performances coming this year.
"There's a lot of attention on the London Jazz scene at the moment but the current generation of French artists, through their experimentation and openness, are also helping to redefine what jazz is. Singer and harpist Laura Perrudin - who opened the season at Bray Jazz - bridges avant-garde and experimental approaches, jazz and contemporary R'n'B , and over the year, in partnership with Improvised Music Company, we're really looking forward to helping more adventurous French musicians play key Irish events like 12 Points."
-David Mckenna, Project Manager at Le Bureau Export's London office (which covers the UK, Ireland and Scandinavia)
“Europe continues to brim with innovative jazz talent and France is a demonstrable trailblazer in exciting new music. We are delighted to continue our Jazz Across Europe focus with “La Visite” in 2018, in partnership with Le Bureau Export, which will focus on contemporary French artists who are pushing boundaries and creating impressive new work”.
Kenneth Killeen, Artistic Director, Improvised Music Company.
